The installation and use of certain fuel burning appliances and flammable liquid storage equipment
require a permit issued by the Fire Department. Additionally, permits for blasting, fireworks display, as
well as certificates for smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide detection equipment are also obtained from the
Fire Department.
Permits for the open burning of brush are issued and are exempt from fees or inspection, but have
restrictions which must be followed.
To obtain the proper permit application please contact the Granville Town Hall at (413) 357-8585 during
regular business hours; or the Fire Department Administrative Assistant at (413) 455-8527.
Permits are issued by the Fire Department under direction of the State Fire Marshal as provided by
M.G.L. Chapter 148.
